Lot 1116 Blacksmith Candlesticks Group NV - , - c1860-1870 - Mining Hard goods/Important Mining Publications
Lot of 4 early miners` candlesticks: One “basic” design stick with a plain spike, thimble, and handle. Measures 6.25” and is rusted and bent. Three “standard” design sticks. One is 12.5” long, the thimble finely scalloped on one edge, with a heart-shaped thumb lever. The end of the handle has a cross-hatched oval stamped into it. This candlestick also features a fluted wedge into which a hook (not included) could be attached through the underside of the spike. A. 8.25” long stick with a very plain design: hook, spike, and thimble all seem to have been wrought from a single piece of metal. The thimble top is scalloped and features a simple thumb lever. A 12” long stick with a plain thimble and hook. The thumb lever curves across the front of the hook. Some rust. - Jacobitz Collection
